NEXT UP SINGING COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS

Welcome to the Next Up Singing Competition.

By accessing our website, submitting an application, purchasing tickets, participating in the competition, attending events, or engaging with any Next Up Singing Competition services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. GENERAL

Next Up Singing Competition is a vocal performance competition designed to discover, develop, and celebrate emerging singers through auditions, live performances, educational feedback, and artist development opportunities.

By using our website or participating in the competition, you confirm that:

  • You agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

  • You are at least 18 years old, or have parent/guardian consent.

  • All information submitted is accurate and truthful.

  • Next Up Singing Competition reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time.

2. APPLICATIONS & SELECTION

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection into the competition.

All applications are reviewed by the judging panel and assessed against the competition criteria.

Next Up Singing Competition reserves the right to:

  • Accept or decline applications at its discretion.

  • Request additional information where required.

  • Limit participant numbers within categories.

  • Modify competition structures, dates, venues, or formats if necessary.

  • Remove participants whose conduct is considered inappropriate, unsafe, abusive, dishonest, or damaging to the competition.

All judging decisions are final.

3. APPLICATION FEES

Application Fee

A $10 Application Fee is required to submit an application.

By paying this fee, applicants acknowledge:

  • The fee is non-refundable.

  • Payment grants access to the official application form.

  • Every applicant will receive written feedback, regardless of whether they are selected.

  • Applications are not considered complete until both payment and the application form have been submitted.

4. COMPETITION FEES

Successful applicants may be required to pay the following fees:

Competition Entry Fee

$59 One-Off Payment

This fee secures participation in the live competition rounds and covers progression through the competition, including the Grand Final if applicable.

Performance Video Package

$59 Per Performance

Participants accepted into live rounds are required to purchase a professional performance recording package for each live performance they participate in.

Extended Feedback (Optional)

$39

Participants may purchase a personalised voice feedback recording from the judging panel.

Audience Tickets

Audience members attending live shows must purchase tickets where applicable.

Ticket prices and inclusions may vary between events and venues.

5. AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS

By submitting an application, participants acknowledge they must be available for all competition dates within their selected category.

Failure to attend a required competition date may result in:

  • Disqualification

  • Forfeiture of fees paid

  • Removal from the competition

Competition dates may be updated where required due to venue, operational, or unforeseen circumstances.

6. TICKETS & EVENTS

Next Up Singing Competition reserves the right to:

  • Change event dates, venues, judges, schedules, or formats.

  • Cancel or postpone events due to circumstances beyond our control.

  • Refuse entry to attendees displaying unsafe, disruptive, intoxicated, abusive, or inappropriate behaviour.

Unless required under Australian Consumer Law, tickets and competition fees are non-refundable.

7. MEDIA RELEASE & CONTENT USAGE

By participating in the competition, attending events, or entering any Next Up Singing Competition activity, you acknowledge and agree that photography, videography, livestreaming, and audio recording may occur.

Next Up Singing Competition reserves the right to use captured content for:

  • Social media

  • Marketing campaigns

  • Advertising

  • Website content

  • Press and publicity

  • Television and streaming content

  • Future competition promotions

Participants grant permission for their image, voice, likeness, name, and performances to be used without compensation unless otherwise agreed in writing.

8. PERFORMANCE CONTENT & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Participants retain ownership of their original performances and creative works.

However, by participating in the competition, participants grant Next Up Singing Competition a non-exclusive licence to:

  • Record performances

  • Photograph performances

  • Share performance content

  • Use performance footage for promotional purposes

Competition branding, logos, graphics, videos, written materials, and digital content remain the intellectual property of Next Up Singing Competition unless otherwise stated.

9. COMMUNITY STANDARDS

Next Up Singing Competition is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.

The following behaviours will not be tolerated:

  • Bullying

  • Harassment

  • Discrimination

  • Abuse

  • Intimidation

  • Disruptive behaviour

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct

Participants, parents, guardians, audience members, and supporters may be removed from the competition or event without refund if these standards are breached.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Next Up Singing Competition is not liable for:

  • Personal injury

  • Loss or damage to personal property

  • Travel or accommodation expenses

  • Missed opportunities or income

  • Technical failures

  • Website outages

  • Third-party service disruptions

Participation is undertaken at the individual’s own risk.

11. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Our website and services may utilise third-party platforms including:

  • Ticketing systems

  • Payment processors

  • Social media platforms

  • Competition management software

  • Email marketing systems

Next Up Singing Competition is not responsible for the content, policies, or operations of third-party providers.

12. PRIVACY

Any personal information collected will be managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Information may be used for:

  • Competition administration

  • Event communications

  • Judging processes

  • Marketing and promotional updates

  • Participant management

Participants may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

13. PARTICIPANTS UNDER 18

Participants under 18 years of age must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Parents or guardians may be required to provide consent for:

  • Competition participation

  • Media usage

  • Photography and videography

  • Collection and storage of personal information

14. CHANGES TO THE COMPETITION

Next Up Singing Competition reserves the right to modify, suspend, postpone, or discontinue any aspect of the competition where reasonably required.

This may include changes to:

  • Dates

  • Venues

  • Categories

  • Judging panels

  • Competition structure

  • Prize offerings

15. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.

Any disputes arising in relation to Next Up Singing Competition shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
