    This fee is non-refundable and covers the review of your application by our industry panel.

    Every applicant receives written feedback, regardless of whether they are selected for the live competition rounds.

  • Once payment has been successfully processed, you’ll receive an email containing a link to the official application form.

    You will need to submit:

    • A performance video

    • Headshot

    • Category selection

    • Artist information

    • Your booking reference number

    Every applicant receives written feedback from our judging panel to help support their development as a performer.

  • No.

    All applications are reviewed by our judging panel and only selected performers will progress to the live competition rounds.

  • Successful applicants will be invited to compete in the live rounds and will be required to pay:

    Competition Entry Fee

    • $59 (one-off payment)

    Performance Video Package

    • $59 per performance

    Optional:

    • Extended Judge Feedback – $39

  • The Competition Entry Fee helps cover venue hire, judges, event production, staffing, administration, and the overall delivery of the competition.

  • The Video Package includes:

    • Professional two-camera filming

    • Live audio recording

    • A copy of your performance video

    This footage is perfect for social media, showreels, auditions, and personal promotion.

  • Yes, provided you meet the age requirements and complete a separate application for each category.

    Additional fees may apply for each accepted category.

  • Contemporary Vocal

    • Junior: 7–13

    • Teen: 14–19

    • Adult: 20–26

    • Open: 27+

    Musical Theatre

    • Junior: 7–13

    Next Up is open to singers of all experience levels. Whether you’re performing regularly or stepping onto a stage for the first time, we encourage you to apply.

  • Your video should:

    • Clearly showcase your voice

    • Include the style of music you wish to perform

    • Be filmed clearly with good audio

    • Represent you as an artist

    We recommend introducing yourself briefly and sharing why you’d like to be part of Next Up.

  • Unfortunately, competitors must be available for all dates within their selected category.

    If you are unable to attend a required date, you may not be eligible to compete.

  • You retain ownership of your performance.

    However, by entering the competition, you agree that Next Up Singing Competition may use photos, videos, and recordings from the event for marketing, promotional, and competition-related purposes.

  • Next Up is produced by a team of performers, vocal coaches, producers, and event professionals who are passionate about creating opportunities for emerging artists.
